Rug Braiding Classes (New Dates for 2022)
We have the opportunity to take a rug braiding class with Marjorie Corrow from Hamburg, New York. Marjorie was a vendor at the recent Fiber Expo and I was really impressed with her rugs, with rug hooked centers and braided borders. I talked with her at length and she has agreed to come to The Basket Sampler to teach classes April 11-13, 2022. Marjorie has been braiding rugs for several decades. As I'm sure you've heard, with the latest executive orders our opening date is still “to be determined”. It's looking like mid June at the earliest for classes-now for retail. Here are some general rules for reopening as required by the governor's directives. Initially, appointments will be required for both retail sales and all classes. Classes will be small at the beginning (3-5 people). However, appointments can always be scheduled for supplies and one on one help with weaving. Those are my plans at this point (I'm sure they will change as needed in the upcoming weeks). I may do two days or an afternoon class if there is interest. We set up the classrooms with social distancing spacing. We have 5 individual tables in the basket room. As I am more comfortable having more people for classes, there is room for 4 more in the hooking room.

Highland, MI 48357 The shop is located on the west side of Milford Road between Livingston and M-59. It is a yellow two story building with parking in the back. We are the middle building and on the second floor (yes-there is an elevator!). Hope to see you soon!

Please call ahead to make sure we are open. There are frequently times that we teach an offsite class and close the shop to do so. If you can't make it to the store during these times, let us know and we can try to accommodate your schedule.
